Mere paas famous Filmistani maa hai…baap, bhai, bahen, dost bhi!

maa7 We don’t want to come off as a couple of really frustrated individuals, but if we do then well…we are!

We’re rather concerned about Filmistan and its future. It’s disheartening to see that nepotism is a common practice in Filmistan— not to those who benefit from it of course, but to us it is. It’s almost next to impossible for an outsider to step into the industry.

The saying, “It’s not what you know, but who you know” is especially relevant to our dear Filmistan. Case in point:

– Saif’s production writes a role for Kareena.
– Anil Kapoor is making a movie for Sonam.
– Ekta Kapoor keeps making movies for her brother Tusshar Kapoor.
– Uday Chopra and Harman Baweja!! (Why else?!)
– Hrithik Roshan
– Ayan Mukherjee is directing Wake up Sid! He’s Kajol’s cousin.
– Those kids in Haal-e-Dil.
– The extended family of Salman Khan.
– Amir Khan – Imran Khan
– The Deols, Bachchans, Akhtars, Chopras, Johars, did we mention the Kapoors?

prithviraj-kapoor-to-kareena-kapoor-and-ranbir-kapoor Kareena (whom we love despite all the rumors of a particular brand of bitchiness) who gave so many flops and still managed to stick around for so many years— would she have survived if she was from a “non-filmi” background?

We could go on but it seems that should be sufficient evidence.

So are you wondering what’s the point of this post?

Well, we’re just venting out our frustration because we’re not even remotely related to any famous filmi…and where do we idiots wanna land up? No points for guessing!

  • I have a famous filmistani mom…dad, brother, sister, friend too! (Derived from the ever famous “Deewar” dialogue “mere paas maa hai.” If you didn’t know this than chullu bhar paani mein doob maro!)
